Todd Howard said Obsidian did a fabulous job, but another non-Bethesda game is unlikely

Now this will divide some people, but Fallout: New Vegas is my personal favourite Fallout game. I loved the world the game was set-in, the character’s story and even the reputation system. However today us gamers learnt we will likely never get another Fallout created by a non-Bethesda studio.

Bethesda boss Todd Howard told The Guardian that it’s unlikely another Fallout game will be developed by a studio other than Bethesda, but it’s not completely out of the picture. Howard said:

“I wouldn’t say never … [But] now that our company is so big, it’s always better to keep stuff internal … it becomes less likely, but I could never say never. I thought the Obsidian guys did a fabulous job.”

While I’m gutted that we won’t get another New Vegas-esque, I am excited for Fallout: 76. I like the idea of a multiplayer focused entry in the series, and am sure Bethesda will deliver. Let me know what you think in the comments below, or tweet us @games_bulletin!
