Techland Publishing have announced that Call of Juarez: Gunslinger will be back on sale as part of their catalogue, after a successful partnership with Ubisoft. To celebrate, the game will be available on Steam at a discounted rate for the foreseeable future.
Adam Lasoń, CPO at Techland Publishing, had a few words to say regarding the homecoming of Call of Juarez:
“Developed by Techland, the Call of Juarez series received a great reception and support from a huge community of players. As Techland Publishing moves forward as a leading publisher, we are delighted to welcome Call of Juarez: Gunslinger to our publishing division. We would like to thank Ubisoft for its incredible work publishing the Call of Juarez games. We’ll continue the great efforts of Ubisoft and support the fans of the Call of Juarez universe in the same dutiful and passionate way”.
Gunslinger is the fourth game in the Call of Juarez series, hitting Xbox 360, PS3 and PC back in 2011 to positive reviews. The game is often overlooked due to a certain other Wild West behemoth that shall remain nameless (*Cough* Red Dead), but it is not without its charms. The game plays in first person mode and players take control of a ruthless bounty hunter names Silas Greaves as he recounts tales of his hunts for dangerous outlaws. The game is a mix of adventure, action and gunslinger duels and contains a range of real-life historical icons such as Billy the Kid and Jesse James.
Do you think this may be pointing to a possible 5th entry to the series? How many of you would like to see the franchise return? For those of you itching for a particular new Western to be released later this year, Gunslinger may fill the void!
