2017’s Super Bomberman R is returning next week with a new 64-player battle royale mode renamed as Super Bomberman R Online. Battle 64, as it’s known, will be a “first on Stadia” exclusive. This game mode drops players into different areas at the beginning of the match. The goal here is to eliminate all other players until you’re the last Bomberman alive.
The new battle royale mode adds its touch to the popular arena decreasing feature. In Battle 64, areas of the screen begin to close off as the timer counts down. As the match progress, new temporary safe areas will open giving players a small moment of safety.
Super Bomberman R Online will be one of the first games to take advantage of Stadia’s Crowd Play feature. This allows players to join their favorite Youtube’s games as they are streaming via an on-screen link. This is an interesting feature and I am curious how this might play out to other games available on Stadia.
Super Bomberman R Online is coming to Stadia on September 1st. The premium edition of the game which includes the base game, 14 new characters, as well as private match functionality will be free to play for Stadia Pro subscribers. Studio Pro subscribers will be able to redeem this offer between September 1st and November 30th. You can purchase the premium pack separately for 9.99
Along with Super Bomberman R Online, there are five other titles that Stadia Pro members will be able to get. These titles include Hitman, Hello Neighbor, Metro Last Light Redux, and Embr.
