EA have announced that the Star Wars Battlefront Death Star DLC will be free for everyone from December 23rd to December 25th as well as double XP. EA is offering the promotion to celebrate the holidays and players will also be treated to 5000 in-game credits just for logging in, credits which can be used to purchase weapons, Star Cards and other in game items.

The Death Star DLC was released in September and includes new maps set on the giant planet-destroyer as well as a multi-stage battle station mode. The battle station mode allows players to recreate Luke Skywalker’s iconic trench run in Star Wars: A New Hope which led to the destruction of the Death Star.

The Death Star DLC also came with new Star Cards, Weapons and Heroes in the form of Bossk and Chewbacca but it is not yet clear whether these will also be free this weekend or if it just the maps. Fans will have to wait until tomorrow to find this out.

For those dusting off their lightsabers and blasters to give Star Wars Battlefront another shot, another DLC was released this month called Rogue One: Scarif which features characters and content from the new box-office smash.
