Shovel Knight Celebrates 2 Million Sales With A Price Cut

Reading Time: 2 minutes

To celebrate Shovel Knight reaching a staggering 2 million copies sold, developer Yacht Club games are offering a discount until April 18th.

The retro-style action platformer is available for almost every platform and those without it can now pick up Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove for £15/$20 which includes the core game as well as all expansions. Just for the fun of it, here are the available platforms that this offer is available; PS Vita, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, Steam, Humble Store and GOG…….I’m starting to see why it has sold so many copies.

For those not in the 2 million that have already played Shovel Knight (or the 50 that played Yooka Laylee….too soon?) it’s likely you’ll recognise the eponymous hero from cameos in other games….and he even has an Amiibo! The core game is similar to the 8/16 Bit 2d platformers of the olden days (my generation) and sees Shovel knight using his trusty shovel to dig for treasure and attack enemies. Each of the proceeding expansions allow players to hop into the armour of Plague Knight and Specter Knight in their own levels using their own unique skills and moves. A third expansion is due later this year and will be available free for those who have purchased Treasure Trove.

Will you be wielding the Shovel for the first time, or perhaps re-wielding it on another platform? Let us know in the comments section below or drop us a Tweet!
