Sega Mega Drive Emulator Coming to Steam

An emulator for the Sega Mega Drive, or Sega Genesis in the states, will be coming to steam. According to Sega the emulator will be titled Sega Mega Drive Classic Hub and will come to steam as a free update. Sega has also confirmed that the update will be coming to America despite the region specific title of the emulator.

The Sega Mega Drive Classic Hub will put players into a 3D Sega fan boy’s room in the early nineties. The player can then boot up the virtual CRV-TV and pull a game off of the virtual shelves to start playing.

All of the Mega Drive games will have full controller and keyboard support, the ability to save your game at anytime, optional graphic enhancements filters, local co-op for supported games, and access to Steam Workshop allowing players to create and share mods of their favorite retro games.

The Sega Mega Drive(Sega Genesis) originally released in Japan on October 29, 1989 and then in the States the following year. The Sega Mega Drive Classic Hub will be available on steam April 28.
