Rocket League, one of the most critically acclaimed sports game of this generation will be free-to-play starting next week. In preparation for this transition, Psyonix will be updating the game on all platforms.

This update introduces new features that will benefit the free-to-play mentality. The update will include cross-platform progression linking, legacy status items, support a creator live as well as the various quality of life additions. The cross-platform progression will be available to all existing players. This allows these players to link their platforms to their Epic Games Account. Players who already own and have played Rocket League will receive their legacy items. These items include boost golden cosmos, huntress player banner, player title est. 20XX, and wheel dice pro.

Rocket League will also be joining Epic’s Suppor-A-Creator program. This update will enable players to enter a Creator Code in the item shop to earn back 5% of credits spent.

Rocket League will be starting its free-to-play transition on the Epic Games Store. Players who download R.L. on the Epic Game Store will receive the Sun Ray Boost and Hot Rocks Trails items. In addition, Rocket Pass will be returning to its first season. Details on season 1 will be revealed soon.
