Resident Evil 7: The Experience

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Resident Evil 7, the upcoming release from Capcom, looks like it’s going to be a terrifying return to form for the franchise. We’ve all played the demo, creeping around the ramshackle house, picking up mannequin fingers that you’re sure must be a key and watching VHS tapes (ask your parents, they’re like DVDs that you have to rewind when you’ve finished watching them) of people dying in rooms you’ve just been in. Ever wondered what it would be like to wander round the place for real? Well now you can. Resident Evil 7: The Experince is coming to London.

From the 20th – 23rd of January the event is open to anybody brave enough to tackle it. Using a storyline inspired by the new game, Resident Evil 7: The Experince will be a 45 minute snapshot of the game incorporating puzzles, clues and a few unexpected interruptions. You will have to work as a team and overcome obstacles, visible and the not so visible, if you want to make it out in one piece.

Laura Skelly, PR Manager for Capcom, had this to say.

“For anyone who has ever wanted to enter the world of Resident Evil, now is your chance! We wanted to give fans a little glimpse into the Resident Evil 7: Biohazard gameplay, bringing it to life and allowing people to interact with the game in a brand-new way, and perhaps even having a chance encounter with some of the game’s characters. Playing on the idea of survival horror, we are really excited to see who will be able to escape the experience when it opens its doors to the public later this month.”

While game producer Masachika Kawata simply said.

“I’m extremely excited to see Resident Evil 7: Biohazard come to life through this Experience, and for participants to get a little taster of what is to come in the game.”

Resident Evil  7: The Experience will take place in London from 20th – 23rd January and will be free entry for members of the public on a strictly first-come basis. Those lucky enough to grab a slot will go through the experience in pairs, and will also be able to play a demo version of the game ahead of the full game launching on the 24th.

The last time I was this excited about a Resident Evil game was RE:2 and that came with two separate game discs, one for Leon and one for Claire. On day of release I set up my TV and PS1 in my friends bedroom so we could both play at the same time, it was the best day. Are you excited to pick up RE:7? Maybe you don’t really enjoy sleeping and fancy going down to the experience? Let me know in the comments section.
