Playstation 4 Overwatch players have been reporting a bug that have cost them several levels, competitive ranks and skins over the last week. Players are reporting on Battle.net and Reddit that their accounts have rolled back anywhere between 5 and 50 levels with some being reset completely as well as losing skins picked up from loot boxes, including legendary ones.
Players are unhappy that Blizzard do not seem to be addressing the issue, a valid point considering some of the skins that players are reporting losing were purchased with real money.
Blizzard recognised the issue and put a Tweet out on July 11th:
We’re currently looking into reports of lost progression on PlayStation 4. Thank you for your patience! We’ll share updates as we know more.

This was followed on July 12th with a representative of Blizzard saying the “root cause for this was fixed, so it shouldn’t happen to anyone else” and that the investigation would be continuing.
Nothing else has been said and it has now been over a week. Overwatch players are understandably worried that they will not be getting their progress back, whether its hours lost or money spent. Complaints are still rolling in to Blizzard via Battle.net so hopefully they will release more information soon.
