The Pokemon Company have announced a European qualifier for their Pokken Tournament Championship Series later this year.

The Pokemon Company International has announced that they are holding a qualifying round for their Pokken Tournament Championship series. The Pokken Tournament, well tournament, qualifier will take place at Dreamhack Summer 2017 on 17th-18th June in Jönköping, Sweden. There is also a qualifying event in America, at the CEO Fighting Game Championships  in Orlando on 16th June until 18th June.

“A total of 16 players will qualify for the Pokkén Tournament World Championships. Four players from a European event and four players from a North American event will qualify. The remainder of the invitations will be awarded to players from Japan and via the Last Chance Qualifier.”

There are no age divisions for this tournament, all competitors are simply pooled into one group. The top four from each qualifier will win a cash price relative to their position in the qualifier (1st – $1250, 2nd – $1000, 3rd – $750, 4th – $600) and travel and invite to the World Championships.
