Speculations and rumors were correct, No Man’s Sky has been pushed back until August. Sean Murray, who is Hello Games founder confirmed the delay in a PlayStation blog post. Apparently the game was not up to par with what he truly wanted and needed some time to tweak a few things before release. Delaying the game was a hard decision for him, but in the end it had to be done.

No Man’s Sky was scheduled for release on June 21st and the 22nd, but now this space game has reportedly been delayed. Two sources reported the delay to Kotaku stating that the game could possibly be released as early as July or August. One of the sources was apparently a GameStop employee.

“A second source, who works at GameStop, said they received marketing materials today for No Man’s Sky with the original June 21 release date. However, stores were informed that the release date is no longer correct and that they should cover it up with a ‘Coming Soon’ label.”

There has been no comment from Sony or Hello games, hopefully more details will be released soon and there won’t be any further delays. No Man’s Sky will be available for PlayStation 4 and PC.

What are your thoughts on the abrupt delay? Has anyone preordered the game? Seems like a very interesting game to say the least.
