Okay so we’re slightly late to this but here we go!

Remember Niantic? They were the team behind Pokemon GO, the AR POkemon game that allowed Pokefans to catch and collect Pokemon. Now while the game does have it’s flaws, it was still a major success. Now, fellow Harry Potter fans, now is our time. A Harry Potter AR mobile game is on the way.

Titled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite the game will “that magic is all around us, and allow players to be a part of Harry Potter’s rich world, through Niantic’s AR + real-world mobile game platform”. Players will explore the world around them, go on adventures, learn to cast spells and encounter “legendary beasts and iconic characters”. Founder and CEO of Niantic, Inc John Hanke had this to say about the game;

“At Niantic, our goal is to leverage technology to create real world experiences that help people to discover the wonderful, and often magical parts of the world around them … The beloved Harry Potter stories have captured imaginations worldwide for more than 20 years and soon we’ll turn the fantasy into augmented reality, allowing fans and their friends to become wizards and witches.”

All we know is that Wizards Unite will release in 2018. You can sign up and stay up to date with news on Wizards Unite on their website. What do you think of the news?
