Niantic CEO John Hanke has seemingly teased what could be the company’s AR glasses, as reported by Gamasutra. Niantic, who are best known for developing Pokemon GO, partnered with Qualcomm a few years back. The venture was meant to allow Niantic to “AR glasses reference hardware, software, and cloud components”. The image was shared on Twitter, with replies being rather mixed.

Gamasutra report that at the time of the partnership Niantic stated; “We’re looking forward to helping move the entire AR industry forward as we work together with Qualcomm Technologies to define a true end-to-end architecture – inclusive of hardware, software, and cloud technologies”.

It is unclear yet just how these will incorporate with titles such as Pokemon GO or Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. However, we have to assume that these will tie in some way. What would you hope to see from these glasses? And do you think they will fare any better than Google Glass? Let us know in the comments below, or tweet us @games_bulletin!
