Deep Silver made a statement to rectify the release date of the next Metro game given in the novel’s website:

As the exclusive rights holder to videogames set in the Metro 2033 universe, Deep Silver has ambitious plans for the hugely successful Metro series.

But just to manage our fans’ expectations – releasing the next Metro game in 2017 is not one of them.

When we have more news to share, we will.

Thank you for your patience.

After this, the official timeline of the Metro Saga was also updated from ‘The Next Metro video game’ to ‘An Untitled Metro Project’ of unknown release date.

While Deep Silver is not ready to give more details about the next installment of the series, the previous description of the timeline hinted at a sequel set after the story of the books.

It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up.

The last release in the game series was Metro Redux, a remastered collection of the two first games for PS4, Xbox One and PC. But the next and final book of the series is coming next month. After this the developers may be ready to give more details.

Meanwhile you can discuss the series in the comment section below and stay tuned for the next update from Games Bulletin. Thank you for reading.
