Need For Speed Payback Revealed

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Yesterday EA Studio Ghost Games announced Need For Speed Payback. Payback promises that “it’s no longer just about being the first to cross the finish line or racing to prove to be the best, it’s about building the perfect ride, getting behind the wheel and playing out an action driving fantasy.”

The game’s Executive Producer Marcus Nilsson has said;

“Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games. We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.”

The game is set in Fortune Valley, and tasks players with taking on the The House; a cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and police. Players will play as one of three characters; Tyler, Mac or Jess as they attempt yo gain the respect of the underworld. You can check out the trailer below.

Being a game released in our modern world of gaming there are naturally pre-order bonuses. Those who pre-order will receive the Need For Speed Payback Platinum Car Pack which grants the player the access to five “uniquely customised and tuned ionic cars”, each with exclusive Platinum Blue Tyre Smoke. These cars are;

  • Nissan 350Z 2008
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
  • Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

Those of you who wish to get the upper-hand on the competition there is the Deluxe Edition of the game! This grants the player; three days early access to the game, exclusive customisation items such as a Deluxe Edition licence plate  and NOS colour,  in-game discounts, Rep bonuses, everything included in the Platinum Car Pack, “and more”.

If you don’t wish to buy the Deluxe Edition of Payback but still wish to play the game early, it is possible to do so via EA Access and Origin Access. Those with access to these subscriptions can play the game for 10 hours from November 2nd . The game releases worldwide November 10th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (Origin).
