A group of modders have taken it upon themselves to create the multiplayer experience that Call of Duty fans wanted. Back in March of this year, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered launched as a campaign only game much to the confusion of gamers everywhere. Now a group of 11 people have decided to create a multiplayer mod using tools provided by the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.
The modders have run polls to determine which features they want to see, such as whether to feature sounds and animations from the original game or Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. And work on the mod is coming along smoothly, with a few maps finished and the majority of weapons successfully ported. The team also plan to fix the One Man Amry glitch, which in the original allowed the player to replenish explosives.
As with many fan projects, it remains to be seen how Activision will react to this news. They may serve a cease and desist, or may choose to let it slide and the project can continue. We’ll have to wait and see ….
