Yep. You read that title correctly. A man in New Zealand has officially quit his job to play hit game Pokemon Go full time. The man, 24 year old Tom Currie, quit his job in Auckland to travel around New Zealand for 2 months in an attempt to catch all of the Pokemon the game currently has to offer.
Currie has said:
“I wanted to have an adventure .. I have been working for six years and I was desperate for a break. And Pokémon gave me the chance to live that dream.”
Currie has booked 20 bus trips to help him complete his adventure. In less than a week Currie has visited six towns and caught 90 of the 151 Pokemon the game offers. Currie’s journey has been done on the cheap by sleeping in hostels or on friend’s sofas. So far a number of travel companies have come forward offering to take him to remote parts of the country to hunt for Pokemon.
Personally I am extremely jealous of Currie. Going around a country, catching Pokemon is something I would love to do. But alas, I can’t. Good luck Tom, stay safe. What do you guys think of Tom’s journey? Let us know in the comments!
