The prequel, Injustice: Gods Among Us, was also adapted to mobile. The app was a free-to-play card collector that could also be used to unlock bonuses on the Xbox and PlayStation versions. It was later updated to add multiplayer functionality for iOS devices.
The mobile adaptation of Injustice 2 was first announced during the last Comic Con. The app has been recently soft launched and early footage is already available on Youtube:
Set for launch in May 16 for Xbox One and PS4, Injustice 2 will follow the story of the first game, using the same gameplay mechanics.
The game will also introduce a new feature called Gear System, an RPG-like feature that allows the player to customize the characters with tools to alter their appearance and performance in-game, creating their distinctive characters and rosters.
The mobile adaptation will be similar to its predecessor, an RPG card collecting game with 3 on 3 fights in single and PvP modes. Incorporating the Gear System as well.
