Developer of Firewatch Campo Santo have reached an agreement with Hollywood production company Good Universe (producer of recent horror movie Don’t Breath), which will see the acclaimed action adventure game get the movie treatment.
The Hollywood Reporter, have reported the two companies are to develop projects together that can spread across both the video game and feature film worlds. Which their first collaboration being a movie version of Firewatch, which is now available on PC, PS4 and most recently the Xbox One. This was Campo Santo’s first ever game, and it was received well by reviewers.

The game itself is a mysterious story that has players adventuring across Wyoming in 1989. It had voice actors such as Cissy Jones (The Walking Dead) and Rich Sommer (Mad Men). At the moment no director and actors have been named in being involved in the project, so it is not known if Cissy or Rich will be involved in the movie in anyway. Also they have not provided any information regarding a release date, therefore, it is highly likely the movie is still in a very early stage.
Campo Santo founder Sean Vanaman told The Hollywood Report;
“When we met Good Universe we were floored by how they recognise, cultivate, and produce incredible stories”, and followed this up with “It’s rare you meet another group that shares so many of your values and makes the process of creating things even more exciting. We can’t wait to see what we make together.”
