With the new Doom release only a week away, ID software have released a launch trailer to generate some excitement among fans. As you may expect from the franchise, it’s bloody, so viewer discretion is advised.
The long awaited reboot has had an overhaul and is returning to the games slick and frantic roots. The website promises that the game will be brutally fun and challenging with relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns and fast fluid movement. The game will also have a range of multiplayer modes, which some of you may have played in the games beta (our first impressions of which can be found here).
Doom’s single player will see the return of some beloved enemies such as the Revenant, Mancubus and Cyberdemon as well as some familiar weapons, including fan-favourite, the BFG 9000. Id software executive Marty Stratton has stated that the key principles revolve around “badass demons, big effing guns, and moving really fast”, which will keep both new and old fans happy.
Doom will be released on May 13th for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows in a range of standard and special editions.
