Bethesda Softworks and Arkane have announced that Dishonored 2 will be released on November 11th 2016 and will be hitting Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The highly anticipated sequel will be showcased by Bethesda at E3 in June in Los Angeles and the gameplay will be premiered and streamed live at 7pm PST via YouTube and Twitch.

For those who missed Dishonored the first time, it is a first person action game with RPG elements in which the player undertakes a range of assassination missions. The focus is on player choice and there are various ways in which to complete missions, with exploration opening up new paths. The story missions are heavily affected by the choices the player makes with a chaos system rather than a good/evil meter. Dishonored was very well received, winning a range of awards including game of the year and range of stars also lent their voices to the game including Carrie Fisher, Michael Madsen and Chloe Moretz.

A few details have been given regarding the gameplay of Dishonored 2, including the choice of 2 characters to choose from. Players can play as the first games protagonist, Corvo Attano, with his familiar supernatural skill set. The other option is to play as Empress Emily Kaldwin who has different powers such as “far reach”, allowing her to travel without her body moving and “shadow walk” which turns her into a cloud of smoke. Both character will play the same missions but from different perspectives adding depth. Arkane have also stated that the game will be more difficult than the first one with smarter guards.
