Recently a truck transporting copies of the unreleased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in the UK was targeted for a robbery. As a result copies of the game were stolen in what was described as a “violent assault”, however it is unclear if anyone was hurt during the incident. A representative has said

“We can confirm that unfortunately some contents from a lorry transporting a variety of video game and DVD titles, including a quantity of the much anticipated Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, was stolen in the UK, during a violent assault,”

Details of the incident are being kept under sheets, with no details as to when and were the robbery happened. I’m sure this is more to do with the fact that a criminal investigation is currently being conducted, with Sony assisting as much as possible. Details of the number of copies taken are also unclear, with Sony only stating that a number of copies were taken.

In the statement, which was given to MCV, Playstation stated

“To be clear, we have yet to ship any stock of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to retail and so any suggestion that UK retailers have broken the official street date is not correct”

Any copies of the game that you see on eBay, or preowned retailers such as CEX, are stolen copies of the game. We recommend contacting the police on 101 (here in the UK) if you find any copies for sale.

Guys just stay vigilant. As tempting as it is, these copies are stolen items and obtaining a copy of the game could be punishable in a court of law. We don’t want that to happen to anyone. We hope that everyone involved in the incident is okay.
