Bandai Namco have revealed Dark Souls 3's first expansion, with another due in early 2017.

Bandai Namco have today revealed Ashes of Ariandel, the first of two planned expansions for Dark Souls 3. Ashes of Ariandel tasks players uncovering a “secret that lies within the frozen land of Ariandel”. The expansion will feature new challenges, new enemies and new lore to add to the Dark Souls 3 world. The expansion will also give players new weapons, armour sets and new magic.

Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc added in a press release:

“Dark Souls III: Ashes of Ariandel continues FromSoftware’s track record of providing best-in-class post game downloadable content support. With hours of new challenges, new bosses, new mysterious locations to explore, new items to obtain, and new ways to challenge other players online, it’s the perfect time to jump back into one of the best games of 2016.”

Ashes of Ariandel will release October 25th for Xbox One, PC and PS4. Ashes of Ariandel will cost $14.99. Alternatively a season pass, which includes this expansion and a second which is due for release in early 2017, is available for $24.99.
