Daily Bulletin – 20th August 2018

Life Is Strange 2
Reading Time: 2 minutes

Welcome to the Daily Bulletin for August 20th! This article will sum up some of the news stories from today, and hopefully will help keep you up to date. From Life Is Strange 2 being announced to a Battlefield V Open Beta, so let’s crack on with it!

EA Announces Battlefield V Open Beta

The announcement was made before Gamescom today by DICE. The Open Beta will begin on September 4th for Early Access and September 6th for Origin (PC), Xbox One and PS4. The press release states that the Open Beta will feature the “soon-to-be-iconic Rotterdam map on Conquest”. The Rotterdam map will immerse players in the streets of Holland where the game will be able to show it’s full potential. “Soon-to-be-iconic” is a rather big and premature boast though. Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Life Is Strange 2 Announced

The next entry in the award winning series was announced today. The story will follow two brothers, Sean (16 years old) and Daniel (9 years old). They flee their home, on the run from the police, and head for Mexico. Everything in Life Is Strange 2 is new; ” a new cast of characters, multiple new settings, new gameplay features and a brand new power for players to discover”. See the trailer below.  Episode One will release September 27th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Just Cause 4 Tornado Gameplay Trailer

The game’s new Apex Engine allows Avalanche Studios to take the physics of the game to a new level. This trailer introduces the game’s “fully simulated Extreme Weather events”. There are 4 unique Weather Events in Just Cause 4, one of which being the tornado shown off today. Any debris that enters the path of the tornado has it’s trajectory calculated in real-time, which is actually rather impressive. Trailer is embedded below.

Prison Architect Now On Nintendo Switch

The popular prison architect game Prison Architect is now available to buy on Nintendo Switch. The Escape Mode of the game, which lets players attempt a jailbreak as a member of the prison, is scheduled for release later this year. As a DLC pack. The game, for those that don’t know, tasks you with building and managing your own maximum security prison.

What did you think of these stories today? The comments about Battlefield V’s Rotterdam map seem a bit much in my opinion, but then again I may be proven wrong. Life Is Strange 2 should be interesting, and we haven’t got to wait long for that! Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or tweet us @games_bulletin!
