It was reported last year after Ben Affleck was coming off of shooting Batman Vs. Superman that he would write and direct his own solo Batman film. The rumor also stated that Affleck would have writing help from DC Comics royalty, Geoff Johns. At this year’s CinemaCon  Warner Bros. chief Kevin Tsujihara confirmed Affleck’s involvement as writer and director. This was all we knew about the film as of April 12th. Around the same time as Tsujihara’s confirmation Heroic Hollywood reported  another rumor. The rumor stated that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns have full creative control over the film. For the fans of DC’s cinematic universe this means Affleck’s solo outing as the caped crusader will not suffer from too many cooks in the kitchen like Batman vs Superman did.

The most recent news about Affleck’s solo outing as the Dark Knight gave hope to all the Batman fans of the world. Birth.Movies.Death is claiming that all of Batman’s rogue gallery will be apart of the film. Not only will we be getting Jared Leto and Margot Robbie reprising their roles as Joker and Harley Quinn respectively, we will also be getting gritty versions of the entire rogue gallery. This is promising because we will possibly finally have true to comic adaptations of Batman’s rogue gallery.

Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice

While this is great news that they are diving deep into Batman’s rogue gallery this could possibly bring up a concern of trying to do to much like any movie including too many villains. This could also be a high risk high reward play by Affleck and Johns. This could really pay off by showing off Affleck’s full potential as Batman and incorporating some classic villains to deliver a awesome story. If not it could be the final nail on DC’s cinematic universe if they can’t produce a good solo Batman film.
