Yooka-Laylee Multiplayer Modes Revealed

The new trailer of Yooka-Laylee reveals more details of the multiplayer modes and the arcade mini games.

Each of the 8 games available at Rextro’s Arcade can be completed in single-player and local multiplayer modes with up to four players.

The mini games are from a variety of genres. Players can compete for the highest score on the leader board or to get items:

Compete in the Glaciators brawler arena to collect the most quills, race to the finish line in Kartos Karting, fight for the flag in Blag the Flag, blast away the enemies in shoot-em-up Gun-let Run and traverse both Jobstacle Course and Hurdle Hijinx, plus more!

There are special coins hidden in the single-player campaign that will allow players to upgrade the arcade machines for a chance of winning extra Pagies, the main collectibles in the game.

Yooka-Laylee also features a cooperative multiplayer option. Connect an additional gamepad  to take control of the Bee Team and provide assistance to the main duo. The second player will be able to gather and store items as well as disabling traps to help Yooka and Laylee pass through difficult areas.

Yooka-Laylee launches on April 11, 2017 for Xbox One, PS4, PC, Mac and Linux. It can be pre-ordered now via the Xbox Store, PlayStation Store, Steam and GOG.

A physical version of the game will be available for Xbox One and PS4. Those who pre-order either the digital or physical versions from select retailers like GAME in the UK or Amazon in the US will receive a spoiler free demo.

What are your impressions of the game so far? Will you buy it?
