Yesterday saw the reveal of a sequel to the much loved sensation that is Yo-kai Watch. It was revealed that Yo-kai Watch 2 will release this year, along with some new items in the franchise’s merchandise line.
Yo-Kai Watch 2 is being developed by LEVEL-5, the same team that developed the first game. The sequel will contain the same levels of wacky RPG adventure, albeit with some improvements. Yo-Kai Watch 2 will have more explorable levels, more than 350 new Yo-kai, a new Yo-Kai Watch as well as the ability to travel back in time. The franchise is also following in a similar fashion to Pokemon with two versions being released, Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls, each offering Yo-kai only available in their own specific edition.
New merchandise was also announced for Yo-kai Watch. There is the Yo-kai Watch Model Zero which resembles the watch worn by Nate in season 2 of Yo-kai Watch, set to premiere this summer. The watch includes Yo-Motion Technology that brings Yo-kai characters to life in a new way. Fans can insert a Yo-Motion Yo-kai Medal into the watch and see a projected animation of that character. New Yo-kai Medals are being released for this new watch as well as Yo-kai Watch accessories, plush toys and electronic figures.
Yo-kai Watch 2 is set to release in the US September 30th for the 3DS. Stay tuned for more news.
