Today Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment unveiled the trailer for the newest character to join the Injustice 2 roster, The Atom.
The Atom version joining the line-up is Ryan Choi; armed with his quantum, bio-belt and an advanced knowledge of physics, players can use a range of sub-atomic powers to fight against Superman’s regime. The Atom will be available for players who have purchased the Ultimate Edition or Fighter Pack 3 from today.
The Atom is part of Fighter Pack 3 and will be joined by Enchantress and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the future. These characters will join 6 other DLC characters already released including Starfire, Hellboy, and Mortal Kombat legends Sub-Zero and Raiden.
No further Fighter Packs have been announced as yet but they are a possibility as NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon has said the studio will take a “more aggressive” approach when it comes to DLC.
Speaking to IGN, Boon said:
“One of the things we’ve been doing, trying to do more and more with every game… is to support it for a longer period of time. With DLC characters, we’ve had four with Mortal Kombat, six with Injustice, eight with Mortal Kombat X, and with Injustice 2 we plan on continuing that pattern, it will certainly be more aggressive than we’ve been in the past.”
