Nintendo announced they sold over 900k units of the system in the U.S. during the first month.
Having sold more than 906,000 units in the US, Nintendo may have reached their initial goal of selling 2m units by the end of March.
Global numbers haven’t been released yet but it seems the console is doing well. And Nintendo is barely being able to keep up with the demand. As they were quoted by GameSpot, “shipments have not yet been able to keep up with such high demand.” But more systems are “continually being shipped.”
Zelda: Breath of the Wild, on the other hand, has sold more than 925,000 units of the Nintendo Switch edition on the U.S. These numbers combine digital and physical sales. Nintendo said they sold more units of the game than the console itself.
Nintendo will be giving their worldwide sales results during the company’s next earnings briefing on April 27.
