Remember Shaq Fu? Or maybe you’ve just heard of it? That really, REALLY awful game from the 90s that featured basketball legend Shaq in a fighting game. I mean this game was just awful, but apparently Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn will be better.
The game is apparently “an intense, action-packed beat ’em up” that sees players take on the role of Shaquille O’Neal as he beats his way through waves of hellish monsters and Hollywood. The game will feature celebrity bosses and an array of weapons including katanas and baseball bats. Players can also channel Shaq’s alter egos; Big Daddy O and Big Diesel.
The game is being published by Wired Productions, and is co-developed by Saber and Big Deez Productions. Saber CEO Matt Karch said:
““We know diehard fans have been waiting eagerly to experience the hard-hitting action of this new take on Shaq Fu, and we’re excited to team up with Wired Productions to get the game physically into the hands of players this spring”
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn is set to release physically and digitally this Spring for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Those of you who grabbed NBA Playgrounds on the Switch, before June 10th, will receive a free copy of the game. Saber will also share more details about the specific timing of release, as well as delivering rewards for the game’s Indiegogo backers, on the game’s Indiegogo page. You can see the trailer below.
