Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, and another unnamed game have all been delayed. These games have been delayed because they want to have more time to create a perfect game. Christine Burgess-Quémard of Ubisoft said, “This decision is in line with our strategic vision of developing even more engaging and higher quality experiences for gamers, Taking more time with Assassin’s Creed Origins enabled our talented development team to fully express their creative vision. As expected, this had a very positive impact on the game’s quality and largely participated in its commercial success. Taking a similar approach, we have decided to invest additional development time in three upcoming games.” This plan seems smart as adding more time to the deadline gives developers more time to work out small kinks in the game before release.
Far Cry 5 has been delayed a month later and will release on March 27, 2018, instead of February 27, 2018. Far Cry 5 is an open-world first-person shooter that takes place in Montana. The main character is fighting an evil religious cult named Eden’s Gate, who have ruined many people’s lives so some of the characters you see in the game were screwed over in some way by the cult.
Another game that was delayed was The Crew 2. It has been moved possibly several months back. Instead of releasing on March 16, 2018, it will now be released sometime between April and September of 2018. The Crew 2 is an open-world racing game where players can control cars and now boats and planes. A beta for Thew Crew 2 is also going to be coming soon.
There is also a third game that has been delayed but we do not yet the name of the game or exactly far back it was delayed but it will now be released sometime between 2019 and 2020. How do you feel about the games being delayed? Do you think it will help developers create better games? Let me know how you feel about it in the comments below!
