Resident Evil 7 Demo Breaks Download Record

Capcom have revealed, via a press release, that Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour has broken the download record for PlayStation 4. Beginning Hour is now the most downloaded single-player demo on PS4 in the first seven days. While this record applies only to North America, the demo currently has 2 million downloads worldwide.

Capcom have also released a statement thanking players of Beginning Hour.

“We would like to thank all our fans for the feedback and support – the nail-biting exploration and terrifying atmosphere in the demo is just a taste of what can be expected when the game releases on January 24, 2017.”

Beginning Hour is a prequel to the main Resident Evil 7 game, which in turn will continue on from the events of Resident Evil 6. Resident Evil 7 will shift the series into first person, will in turn will work with virtual reality to deliver a “truly terrifying horror experience”.

I haven’t played Beginning Hour, in fact I have deliberately steered clear of the demo. I have been looking to get back into Resident Evil, but when I found out that Beginning Hour featured no zombies it really put me off. Have you played Beginning Hour? What did you think of it? Are you looking forward to RE7? Let us know in the comments below.
