Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for the Xbox One and PS4 on October 26, 2018. The game was originally set to launch in fall of 2017 but got delayed until spring of 2018 and is now set back to fall 2018. Rockstar says the delays give them more time to improve the game and fix any problems. “We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26, 2018,” it said. “We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.”
Along with the new release date Rockstar also released more screenshots of the game.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be about Arthur Morgan, an outlaw who rides with Dutch’s gang, also known as the Van der Linde Gang “as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive.” Since this gang does not exist in Red Dead Redemption there is enough evidence to wonder if this is a prequel but we are not sure about how much time has passed between the two games.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing for both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. There has been no word if there will be a PC version. Red Dead Redemption never made it to PC so it is not likely Red Dead Redemption 2 will. Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar, has said that they expect “recurrent consumer spending” meaning they expect the people who play other Rockstar games will likely buy Red Dead Redemption 2. “We’ve said that we aim to have recurrent consumer spending options for every title that we put out at this company,” Zelnick said. “It may not always be an online model. It may not, probably won’t always be, a virtual currency model, but there’ll be some ability to engage on an ongoing basis with our titles after release across the board.”
