If you haven’t heard of PUBG, or PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds as nobody calls it, then I’m afraid to tell you that you’re the only person in the world. It’s the success story of the year, an online battle royal game that hosts up to 100 players that can 1v1 or take part in teams. Developed by PUBG Corperation, a subsidiary of Korean publisher Bluehole, it’s not even finished being made yet and it’s already been snapped up by Microsoft as a console exclusive for the Xbox. It’s a big deal and its developers have just announced its new project, Ascent: Infinite Realm, a steampunk MMORPG. If you can get internet signal at that rock you’ve been living under take a look at the reveal trailer.
Ascent: Infinite Realm is described by Bluehole as a “groundbreaking” MMO, with a setting that mixes steampunk and high-fantasy. There are five classes, including Warlord, Sorceress, Gunslinger, Assassin, and Mystic. Each has two subclasses that will be revealed at a later date. A beta for Ascent: Infinite Realm is being planned to launch in the first half of 2018. You can sign up to learn more about the game on its website.
