PSN Scheduled For Maintenance This Week

Sony has announced that the PSN will go down for 2 hours this week for scheduled maintenance. The maintenance is planned for North American users at 7:30am PST on the 18th April and is planned for some time on the 19th for users in other countries.

All PlayStation hardware will be affected although users who already have an account will still be able to sign in, play games and use most applications while the maintenance is carried out. Users will not be able to manage their accounts or use PlayStation Video or the PlayStation Store. PS4 owners have been advised to activate their PS4 as primary before the update in order to continue playing most games and 3rd party services. Details on how to do this as well as more information on the maintenance can be found on Sony’s website.

Sony have apologised for the inconvenience, stating “occasionally we must take PlayStation™ Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements. We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”

How do you feel about planned maintenance, does it annoy you or is it a necessary sacrifice? Let us know in the comment section below!
