Those of you PC players in North America who were hoping to get the disc version of Battlefield 1, I have some bad news for you. Actually quite a bit of bad news.
It has been revealed by EA that, in North America, the PC version of Battlefield 1 will only be downloadable only. No discs. PC Gamer reported EA stating:
“Here in North America, there will be a PC box version that you can buy in stores that will have a code in the box and no disc … If you buy that same PC box version Internationally, some countries will offer a disc inside.”
The news only gets worse. Those of you on PC hoping to preorder the game’s Collector’s Edition will be unable to do so, that particular edition is only available for console. The Collector’s Edition comes with a smorgasbord of things, such as; a 14″ statue of a Hell Fighter, a Steelbook case, a cloth poster, a patch, a deck of playing cards, and even a little messenger pigeon’s tube with a code for exclusive DLC inside. All of this comes with hefty £180 ($220) price-tag.
However this is some good news. It has been revealed by the Battlefield Twitter account that a server browser will in fact be present in Battlefield 1.
To those of you on PC who are thinking of grabbing this game. How do you feel about this? I feel that the Collector’s Edition should still be available for PC, even if the game is a download. They can just send out the extra parts right? What do you think of this? Let us know in the comments!
