Are you a fan of Giant, drivable, robotic killing machines? Are you a fan of excellent level design? Are you a fan of free updates? Yes? Well Titanfall 2 is probably already in your possession right? If not then stop reading right now and go and purchase it, you can thank me later. Right, now that’s all sorted we can begin.
Titanfall 2 developers Respawn Entertainment have released details on their next content drop in a blog post on the game’s website. There are two new modes they are working on, one called Live Wire and one still to be named. Live Wire is a 6v6 pilot only mode that promises lightning fast, competitive, close quarter combat. The other is a round-based best of five mode with no respawns, you will have one minute to eliminate the opposition to win. You can also win by finishing the round with a neutral flag in your possession. These modes are putting an emphasis on teamwork, speed and testing your mobility skills. There are also three new maps, two of which are exclusive to the new modes. Stacks and Meadows are tight, enclosed death boxes designed specifically for the fast-paced, intense nature of the new new modes.
Also in the works is Columns, the other new map, which is used in Coliseum mode, a brand new Pilot execution that the team are particularly excited about and multiple new Commander intros for each Faction. There’s no release date as yet but the team did say that when they can let us know they will. They also confirmed that it will be free.
I Love Titanfall 2, I think it’s a fantastic game that was criminally overlooked by a large number of people due to a very unfortunate release date. Being sandwiched between Battlefield One and Call of Duty 1999: A Space Odyssey or whatever it was called did this masterpiece no favours. Are you looking forward to this free update? Let me know in the comment section.
