Today saw the release of Miitomo, Nintendos first venture in the smart device applications in the UK and across Europe. Miitomo has been available for 3 weeks in Japan and has already surpassed 1 million downloads. Miitomo can be linked with a users current Nintendo account to use a Mii created on consoles or handhelds such as the Wiiu and 3ds or a new Mii can be created from scratch or from a photo. Users can then add friends in person or via social media and answer a series of questions such as, What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten or, if you were given ten grand to spend in one day, what would you do? From your answers, the app creates conversations and turns discussions into a form of play. The answers get shared among friends creating interesting debates and allowing you to discover unexpected facts about each other. When users hear how their friends respond, they can give answers in the form of a heart or a written or picture comment. The app is available on the Apple Store or on Google play for Android.
