A Word Regarding The Jacksonville Shooting

Reading Time: 1 minute

Today isn’t a Daily Bulletin because there is only one issue we should be discussing today, and that is the shooting that occurred at a Madden tournament in Jacksonville, Florida.

For those of you who don’t know, a gunman (who we will not be naming) began firing at the GLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville Landing. Unconfirmed reports are saying that the gunman began shooting after a loss in the tournament.

The shooting led to 11 people being injured, as well as 2 fatalities. The names of those who lost their lives are not being revealed until the next of kin has been informed. Police have confirmed that the gunman acted alone, and that the gunmen took his own life at the end of the incident.

It’s times like these that us gamers stand together in solidarity. We all have different genres and platforms we enjoy, and we all belong to our own individual communities, but at the end of the day we are all gamers. Regardless of age, platform, where we live; we all have a common love for losing ourselves in video games.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
