New Injustice 2 Trailer Drops, Reveals Darkseid As Preorder Bonus

Yesterday saw the release of a new Injustice 2 trailer that helped shed some light on what exactly it is that will be happening in the story for Injustice 2. Injustice: Gods Among Us saw the Superman from an alternate universe kill the Joker (from alternate universe) after the Joker destroyed Metropolis with a nuclear weapon and tricked Superman into killing a pregnant Lois Lane. Superman then goes all dictator-ish and decides to rule the world. War ensues and the alternate world’s, and the actual world’s, heroes and villains all pick sides and go head to head. Dictator Superman is imprisoned in a prison that emits red sun radiation (to weaken him) and the game ends, but not before his eyes glow red suggesting he still has some power.

Now, logic would suggest that dictator Superman and his red glowy eyes will escape his prison, and attempt to conquer the world. However this new trailer suggests otherwise. The trailer shows many of the heroes and villains you can play as including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn and Robin. It’s the end of the trailer you want to see.

For those of you who don’t fancy watching the trailer, at the end of the trailer we get a brief glimpse of Brainiac, so it seems that he may well be the main antagonist of Injustice 2. The end of the trailer also reveals Darkseid as a pre-order bonus character. It may well be a case though that he becomes available to everyone as a paid DLC character later down the line, similar to Goro. It finally reveals three editions of the game; standard edition, deluxe edition and ultimate edition. Naturally, standard edition comes with no extras. The deluxe edition (which appears to be digital only) comes with 3 unnamed DLC characters, one premier skin (Supergirl can become Powergirl with new look, voice and dialogue) and one gear shader pack. The ultimate edition (available in digital and physical) includes 9 unnamed DLC characters, and 3 premier skins (Flash into Reverse Flash, Hal Jordan into John Stewart and Supergirl into Powergirl each with new look, voice and dialogue). You can see these on the Injustice website.
