The HTC Vive, the virtual reality headset from HTC and Valve, finally has a release price and it’s pretty pricey.
The Vive will cost $800, which is $200 more than the Occulus Rift. The Vive Consumer Edition comes with; the headset, two wireless controllers, a link box (that connects to your PC) and a pair of Vive earbuds. The main thing you will need is a PC capable of running the Vive.
The major difference between the Vive and the Rift is that the Vive comes with the wireless controllers. The Rift’s controller’s don’t release until later this year, so buying the Rift will get you am Xbox One controller instead.
Vive units will be shipped with two games, Job Simulator and Fantastic Corporation, with more games set to release through Valve’s notorious selling platform Steam.
