HTC Vive Delayed

Commercial versions of the HTC Vive, the virtual reality headset being created by Valve and HTC, has been delayed until April 2016.

“We remain committed to delivering the HTC Vive to a broader group of content creators and partners, and remain focused on delivering the very best experience possible for a consumer release,” says the HTC blog post.

Vive devkits, special versions of the Vive headset sent around the gaming community and business area for the purposes of demonstration, are out there in the world somewhere with 7,000 more set to be sent out in early 2016.

Commercial versions of Valve and HTC's VR headset were set for a release before the end of 2015, but will now release April 2016.

There is currently no pricing for the Vive, but a HTC executive stated earlier this year that the HTC VIve aims to be “most premium VR experience the world has ever seen,” meaning it will most likely have a “slightly higher price point.”
