Konami Ban Kojima From Attending Game Awards

December 3rd should have been an amazing day for Hideo Kojima. Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain, the last Metal Gear Solid Kojima will make won Best Action/Adventure Game at the Game Awards 2015 but unfortunately Kojima was unable to attend. Apparently, not through his own decision.

According to the show’s host Geoff Keighley, Kojima was told by a lawyer representing Konami that he would be able to attend; because he was still under an employment contract with Konami. Keifer Sutherland, the voice behind Snake in MGSV, had to accept the award on Kojima’s behalf.

This is just the latest in a long string of events between Konami and Kojima, following the halt of Silent Hills and the liquidation of Kojima Productions. Plus Konami never acknowledging Kojima’s leaving party (which we have pictures of) and Konami pulling their stocks from the stock exchange the world of gaming can’t help but sit back and wonder. What are Konami doing?

Are Konami going under? Or did Kojima do something to really upset Konami? Only will tell. If Konami ever tell us that is.
