It seems those who own Metal Gear Solid V : The Phantom Pain have responded positively to Konami’s call to disarm all nuclear weapons. Once all nuclear weapons are disarmed for your platform, a hidden cutscene will be available upon your return to Mother Base.
Details for this event were previously known, but this cutscene is now live for everyone. Once certain criteria are met. The criteria are as follows:
- 1. You must have completed Mission 31.
- 2. You must not own or be currently developing a nuclear weapon. If you have any nukes in stock, you must dismantle them.
- 3. Certain conditions related to nuclear proliferation must be met on the regional server for your corresponding gaming platform (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC).
- 4. All nuclear weapons on the regional server corresponding to your console or platform must have been dismantled. In other words, the amount of nukes on your platform’s server must be equal to 0.
Konami have announced that the “certain conditions” for step 3 have been met, meaning once all individuals holding nuclear weapons have disarmed their weapons, the cutscene will be available.
Want to know how many nukes are left on your platform? Here’s the stats (correct as of writing):
- PS4 : 349 left
- PS3 : 215 left
- Xbox 360 : 75 left
- Xbox One : 81 left
- PC : 15,206 left
However, in my opinion, given that the cutscene is available online to watch already there is little to no reason for people to bring the nuke count down to 0. The cutscene is available below.
